Round 2 of the AMA Women's Motocross Series took place in conjunction with the James Stewart Freestone Spring Championships held in Wortham, Texas, and Mackenzie Tricker proved once again that she has her sights set on winning the 2014 WMX Championship.
Motorcycle Superstore / Bell Helmet-sponsored Tricker didn't have the best first moto as a few mistakes resulted in a second place finish behind Kawasaki Team Green's Brandy Richards, but it was a different story in the second moto as Tricker placed her Rock River Yamaha on top the box and took the overall win.
"Moto 2 was better than the first moto but still not where I'd like to be," explained Tricker. "I was running in second for the majority of the race before the leader crashed with a few laps to go and I was able to capitalize on her mistake. It's a learning process and the competition is tough. I'm going back to the basics for the next three weeks and I'm going to dig deep and come out swinging at Round 3 at Glen Helen."
With Tricker's overall wins at the first two rounds, she now has a 17-point lead in the series.
