I. PREFACE

An AMA Pro Racing Sanction Agreement is issued only by AMA Pro Racing Headquarters in Daytona Beach, FL. An AMAP sanctioned Event is a competitive motorcycle racing Event which is intended to be conducted and officiated in accordance with this Rule Book. All changes relating to an Event, including Qualifying, must be approved in advance by AMAP. This Rule Book may be amended from time to time. Supplementary Rules and Regulations may be issued by AMAP specifically for the Event and any applicable agreements to which AMAP is a party may also apply. The AMAP Rule Book is designed to provide for the orderly conduct of AMAP-sanctioned Events. It is the responsibility of each Credentialed Participant to address any complaint he/she might have regarding officiating to AMAP. It is ultimately the obligation of each participant to ensure that his/her conduct and equipment comply with all applicable rules, as they may be amended from time to time. EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL NOT RESULT FROM THE PUBLICATION OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH, THESE RULES. These rules are intended as a guide for the conduct of professional motorcycle racing and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others.

II. DISCLOSURE:

AMA PRO RACING STRIVES TO REGULATE THE SPORT OF PROFESSIONAL MOTORCYCLE RACING IN THE FAIREST POSSIBLE MANNER. ALL PARTIES INVOLVED IN AMAP PROFESSIONAL RACES ARE EXPECTED TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER, RESPECTING AT ALL TIMES THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS. THE RULES FOR COMPETITION ARE INTENDED ONLY AS A GUIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT PURSUANT TO THE UNIFORM RULES. RULES DIRECTED OR RELATED TO SAFETY ARE PROMULGATED TO MAKE ALL PERSONS CONCERNED WITH SAFETY, BUT AMAP NEITHER WARRANTS SAFETY IF THE RULES ARE FOLLOWED NOR COMPLIANCE WITH AND ENF\ORCEMENT OF RULES. MOREOVER, EACH PARTICIPANT IN COMPETITION HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSESS THE SAFETY ASPECTS OF FACILITIES AND CONDITIONS AND MUST ASSUME THE RISK OF COMPETITION.

III. RULES:

IN ADDITION TO THESE WMX SUPPLEMENTAL RULES, ALL RACING IS GOVERNED BY THE AMA PRO RACING PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 RULEBOOK, AS INCORPORATED HEREIN BY REFERENCE.

A. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

An AMA Pro Racing license is required in order to compete in WMX events. To be eligible for a WMX AMA Pro Racing license, a rider at a minimum must:

  1. WMX is a female class based on the rider’s original birth certificate (issued at Birth);
  2. Minimum age of 17 years is required, unless the rider competed in the WMX championship in 2025. Effective, Effective with the 2027 competition season, AMA Pro Motocross licensed riders will be required to be 18 years of age for all classes.
  3. Hold a valid and active AMA membership in good standing;
  4. Submit a completed neurocognitive baseline ImPACT test/assessment from ImPACT Applications, Inc. dated within two years of the date of the Competitor's AMAP Credential License application. Proof of completion must be submitted to AMAP.
  5. Provide proof of primary medical insurance covering all injuries sustained while competing in an AMAP sanctioned event. Such primary medical insurance must remain current and in force at all times while participating in an AMAP-sanctioned event. Failure to maintain such coverage in-force will result in the immediate suspension of the Competitor’s AMAP License.
  6. Execute and deliver to AMAP such authorizations, releases, applications, consents, waivers, resumes, and other documents as may be required by AMAP from time to time.
  7. Rider must demonstrate competition experience comparable to other competitors in the class. To do so, rider may:
    a. Race Resume: Submit a Race Resume to include all AMA-sanctioned race results from the past (18) months. A minimum of five race results is required.
    b. Reference Letter: At least one letter of reference, including contact information, from an AMA national or district race official, recognized industry representative, or certified USMCA instructor familiar with the applicant’s abilities and capable of attesting to the rider’s readiness for WMX competition.
    c. Additional supporting information may be requested as needed to evaluate eligibility. Applicants may submit updated results and materials for further consideration.

All WMX licenses are considered provisional. The license process will not be considered complete until the rider competes in her first three events without issue. WMX eligibility is issued at the sole discretion of AMA Pro Racing and may be revoked at any time.

B. RACE ENTRY & REGISTRATION

  • Entry Fee: $125 per class. Includes gate fee, parking, practice, and race entry.
  • Entry includes rider pit access, track access and event credentials.
  • All riders must check in on Friday prior to the closing of registration (9:45).
  • Registration / Will Call will be in the designated paddock registration area. (refer to event schedule for exact location and times).

C. MACHINE ELIGIBILITY

  • Machine Size: 122–250cc combustion engines only. (No Minicycles)
  • Wheelbase: Minimum Front 21”; Rear 18”.

D. RACE PROCEDURES

  • Race Format: Two-moto format at 12 minutes plus one lap per moto. One race Friday and one Saturday.
  • On race day, WMX Riders may only compete and/or participate in the WMX practice session(s) and race motos and may not enter or compete in any other class or practice group.
  • The current WMX National Champion must compete with the #1.
  • All Riders must display the official WMX logo on the upper left front torso or left shoulder area of their jersey. Go here Series Logos - WMX Championship for series logos - minimum 3” wide.
  • Restarts and Red Flag Procedures: When a Moto is stopped after the leader completes one (1) lap but prior to 8 minutes elapsing on the race clock, the following procedures will apply:
     i. A red flag will be displayed, and the Red Flag Downtime period will begin.
    ii. All Riders must stop racing and proceed with caution to the starting area or other area as directed by Race Officials.
    iii. The race will be restarted as soon as possible using a staggered restart from the starting gate.

E. CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

Class championship will be determined by the rider’s best 12 moto finishes. Championship points will be awarded per moto based on AMA standard point scale.

F. EVENT ACCESS & PARTICIPATION

  • Rider entry includes access to designated rider areas and event credentials.
  • Each rider is permitted one Mechanic Pass for the Signal Area.
  • Mechanics must have an active AMA membership.
  • Mechanics must remain in designated areas and follow all WMX paddock rules.
  • Mechanics must wear a collared shirt on Friday and Saturday.
  • Additional passes for family or guests may be available for purchase.

G. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Riders or mechanics must present the following at tech inspection: helmet, chest and back protector, jersey, and helmet eject system.
  • Transponders are mandatory and will be issued at tech inspection.
  • Helmet eject systems are mandatory for all WMX competitors.
  • Chest and back protection must be worn by all competitors. The protector may be worn under or over the jersey, and it shall cover the sternum anterior ribs, posterior ribs and spine from T1 – T12.

H. PURSE

WMX is a purse-paying class with a total of $2,500 per moto.

I. EVENT FORMAT

  • Thursday: Parking / Registration (3:30pm – 5:30pm)
    Paddock parking is free for race vehicles only;
    Parking placement is assigned by event staff
  • Friday: Registration/Tech Inspection/Riders Meeting /Practice/Moto 1.
  • Saturday: Practice and Moto 2.
    Final format is subject to event schedule

J. GENERAL INFORMATION

  • All WMX event details, schedules, and updates will be communicated through official WMX channels.
  • Riders should refer to the WMX Schedule of Events for arrival times.
