WMX Eligibility Requirements
WMX Eligibility Requirements – 2026 Season
To compete in the WMX Championship, all riders must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Minimum Age Requirement:
All WMX riders must be at least 17 years of age at the time of competition.
AMA Pro Racing License Requirement - WMX RIDER:
All riders must obtain a valid AMA Pro Racing Professional Motocross License (WMX RIDER) before competing.
Eligibility Determination:
Eligibility for a WMX professional license will be determined at the sole discretion of AMA Pro Racing based on a rider’s competition experience and readiness for professional-level racing.
Applicants must submit the following for consideration:
- A race resume including results from A, B or Expert level competition within the past 18 months (minimum of five results required; C class results will not be considered)
- At least one letter of reference from an AMA official, recognized industry professional, or certified coach confirming the rider’s ability to compete at the professional level
Additional Requirements
- Riders must complete all AMA Pro Racing application requirements and submit supporting documentation as requested
- Additional information may be required to determine eligibility
- Multiple submissions and updates may be submitted for review
